Patrick Adams is a versatile trumpet player, composer, artist, and bandleader. Born in Prescott, Arizona, Patrick started playing the piano when he was five, He studied the foundations of music as well as the European Classical tradition as a child and first picked up a trumpet for the 6th grade concert band.  Growing up in the southwest, he had the opportunity to study with trumpeter Steve Annibale and saxophonist Heath Krieger as well as play in the high school band, AZ all-state band, Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Youth Band, and freelance with local jazz groups throughout Arizona. He began attendance at the Oberlin Conservatory (Oberlin, OH) in 2008 and graduated with a B.M. in Jazz Trumpet in 2012.  Those years he spent under the tutelage and guidance of a great deal of artists and craftsmen of the highest degree including Marcus Belgrave, Dan Wall, Wendell Logan, Billy Hart, Jamey Haddad, Gary Bartz, Dennis Reynolds, Sean Jones, Paul Samuels, Bobby Ferrazza and Roy Poper. He became a New York City resident in 2012 and since then has been assimilating into the diverse music community throughout the city. His group earthTone has been performing since 2015 and will be recording their first album fall '16. You can hear his trumpet on “And I See Night” (GADADU, 2015), "Electric Sheep" (Robot Mommy, 2015), “Plug In” (Robot Mommy, 2014), “Multiplicity” (Terry Hsieh Collective, 2014) and “Trace” (Terry Hsieh Collective, 2014). He has recorded with Miguel Zenon, Robin Eubanks, and Jamey Haddad.
